Void Communications LLC is the creator of VaporStream stream messaging, a recordless electronic communications system. Stream messaging is an electronic communications system that leaves no record on any computer or server. The vendor notes that VaporStream stream messaging is not intended to be a replacement for E-mail, but is a complement to it; if you need a record, E-mail it--if not, use VaporStream.

VaporStream states that their stream messaging is "recordless." Streamed messages cannot be forwarded, edited or saved. You cannot print a copy of a VaporStream message as you can with E-mail. The VaporStream system separates the sender's and receiver's names and the date from the body of the message, never allowing them to be seen together. Even if the sender or receiver were to make a "print screen" copy, these elements are never captured together.

The instant a VaporStream stream message is sent, it is placed in a temporary storage buffer space. When the recipient logs in to read their message, the message is removed from the buffer space. By the time the recipient opens it, the complete stream message no longer exists on the server or any other computer.

This system is Web-based, meaning that no hardware or software purchases are required. It also works with your existing E-mail system and E-mail address; and, according to the vendor, is immune to spam and viruses.

VaporStream is available now at a subscription fee of $39.99 for both individual and per user enterprise subscriptions. There is an additional $5.00 one-time administrative fee per user under enterprise subscriptions. VaporStream Mobile (expected to be available in spring 2007) provides users with the ability to send and receive VaporStream stream messages on a mobile device and is available to annual subscribers for an additional $5.00 per year.
