Produced in partnership with 123ID, Inc., DKF-UMS (Universal Matching System) marries software modules, sample code and applications, and fingerprint sensor hardware and reference schematics to provide Windows developers with a toolkit that enables them to implement fingerprint capture and recognition capabilities within their own applications. The kit supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista, and provides both identification (1-N fingerprint recognition) and verification (1-1) capabilities.
product submission by EITPlanet StaffHardware-wise, the kit is based on Fujitsu's MBF200 sensor technology, which produces 500 dpi, 8-bit resolution images in WSQ, BMP, or encrypted RAW formats. An MDF200-USB fingerprint scanning peripheral device is included within the kit for development and testing, as is a reference schematic for the MBF200 interface. Driving the fingerprint recognition process are three primary vector/minutia-based software modules; for the capture, verification, and identification of scanned fingerprints. The Capture module (MScapture) boasts automated calibration routines for the sensor, allowing it to create images even for wet, dry, or "difficult-to-read" fingers. It outputs both the raw fingerprint image and the fingerprint template for subsequent processing. The Verify Module allows for 1-1 matching of a fingerprint, and is delivered in DLL, static, or ActiveX packages. The vendor states that verification is performed at a rotation tolerance of +/- 60 degrees (or higher, if requested), with false positives and false negatives both rated at < 0.01%. The Identify Module facilitates 1-N matching of fingerprints (identifying a person based on a provided fingerprint) at a clip of 1,000 fingerprints analyzed per second (rotation tolerance of +/- 60 degrees). Like the Verify Module, the Identify Module is delivered in DLL, static, and ActiveX packages. The Identify Module offers a false accept rate of < 0.0001% and a corresponding false reject rate of < 0.97%. Identification is database independent. Both the Identify and Verify modules are capable of interoperable matching with fingerprints captured with the Fujitsu MBF200 and the Sweep Sensor products. The platform features a Minutia Extraction Module capable of generating minutias compatible with FIPS-201 NIST standards, as well as the generation of traditional core and delta points. Other features of the kits include: - A demo application with enrollment, verification, and identification capabilities - Project files for Visual C++, C#, and Visual Basic - HTML help files The kits are offered in standard (single) or open license formats, with 1-1 or 1-N matching supported. Additional Capture, Verify, and Identify run-time licenses can be purchased separately; as can MDF200-USB peripherals. Kit pricing starts at $3,000.
